Adult Basic Education and GED Test Preparation

Goals for the 2011 - 2012 School Year

The following program goals have been set for the 2011 - 2012 school year ....  

• Continue to offer locally-run GED preparation classes to the residents of Pike County.

• Continue to offer GED preparation classes and GED testing services at the Pike County Jail.

• Provide CRU opportunities for Pike County classroom teachers wanting to renew their teacher or administrative licenses (if needed).

• Continue to offer GED Testing Services for those living in Pike and Gibson counties.    

• Develop specialized classes for business and industry when requested by local officials or business representatives.

• Regularly advertise all adult education services available to the public via local newspaper advertising.

• Re-evaluate program expenses.

• Align activities with the regional adult education consortium when possible.

• Keep Pike County adult educators abreast of new teaching technologies.

• Work with our local WorkOne office when in taking new adult learners.  

• Encourage new GED recipients to go on to further their education!
