Amy Loveless, who plays clarinet in the high school band, recently found out some great news.  She participated in a nationwide competition through the Air Force Band.  It was a young artist solo concerto competition.  The Air Force Band had a list of required pieces for all instruments.  Amy learned the Weber Concerto for the competition.  Out of 50 auditions on all instruments throughout the nation, Amy placed 9th!  Congratulations Amy!  What a fantastic job!

Looking ahead, keep in mind that ISSMA solo and ensemble will be taking place on January 29, 2011 at Jasper 5th St. School.  Also, our "Recital Night" in preparation for that is January 28th here at the high school.

Several students will be participating in the Indiana State University All-Star Honor Band January 14, 15, and 16 2011.  This is a really great opportunity for them to learn about concert band technique, hear great performances, meet new friends from other band programs, and study some great concert band repertoire.   Students participating in this great opportunity include Alyssa Jones, Becca Lee, Amy Loveless, Tyler Brock, Timothy Jones, and Kayleigh Payton.  Congratulations to them on their selection into the group and have a great time!
