The National Honor Society is a group of juniors and seniors who first must have a GPA of 3.33 to receive an invitation to apply to our chapter. Once the students apply, their applications are reviewed by a secret faculty committee. They select the members based on four traits: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. The members of NHS conduct many service projects for people in our community. This year we have assisted with the Halloween Weekend at Prides Creek, provided 30 families with full Thanksgiving meals, provided over 50 local low-income elementary students with toys for Christmas, and we also sold dirt pudding at boys' basketball games to raise money to donate to Precious Rewards Inc.
NHS is collecting the folling items for Thanksgiving Baskets
Large can of corn
Large can of green beans
2 boxes of stuffing
Box of instant mashed potatoes
Large can of yams
Can of cranberry sauce
Can or jar of turkey gravy

5K Race
With the money earned, NHS successfully built a new playground at Prides Creek
Park.
This our second play ground built for them in the course of two years.
