You will be filling out the code of conduct, medical form and concussion forms. The physical form is the only paperwork that cannot be done online. Pike Central Middle School
PCMS track teams both finish second in PAC Conference meet. Sam Theising placed first in the 110 meter high hurdles.. Sam's time was 18.68 seconds. Sam Theising, Ethan Huck, Andrew Claridge, and Tyler Kirby placed second in the boys' 8th grade 400-meter relay with a time of 51.69. Ethan Huck placed third in the boy's long jump with a leap of 15 feet 6 inches and in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.13 seconds. Nate Woolery placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26:75. Colt Armstrong, Connor Young, Joel Henson and Alfredo Stewart placed third in the boy's 1,600 meter relay with a time of 4:30:25.
Libby stone placed first in the girls' 200 meter dash with a time of 28.62 seconds and second in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, 10 inches. Libby also finished 3rd in the girls' 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06:57. Jayln Nelson finish second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.79 seconds. Hadley Holder finished second in shot put with a throw of 26 feet, 4 inches. Hadley also finished third in the discus with a throw of 64 feet, 1 inch. Lauren young finished third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.30 seconds. Shelby Sisk finished third in discus with a throw of 25 feet.
The Science Academic team competed in the Junior Superbowl on Saturday, April 30th at Reitz High School. They placed 1st in the Class 3 division and had the highest score of the 20 teams. They placed 4th in the state. Team members are Connor Young and Hunter Willis. Congratulations, Connor & Hunter! Angie Williams in the coach for the Science team.
Simon McCrary was a finalist in the Tri-State Spelling Bee. He represented Pike Central Middle School and he placed 12th in the Spelling Bee. Congratulations Simon on a job well done!
On Sunday, November 15th, an honor band consisting of 91 students, representing 21 schools across Southwestern Indiana met at South Knox High School. These students were under the direction of Master Gunnery Sergent John Mula of the President's Own Marine Corps Band. The students met on Saturday for a six hour rehearsal with a culminating concert on Sunday. Those students from Pike Central Middle and High Schools who participated were: Ethan Huck, Shelby Vaughn, Brandon Goeppner, Alex Powers, Ashley Dulworth, Maggie McDonald, Klayton Kixmiller, Neeley Correll, Madison Fettinger, Evan McGuire, Kyle Williams, and Benny Hess
Congratulations to the Middle School Cross Country teams on a job well done at PAC Conference Championship. Lauren Young earned 1st Team All-Conference honors with her 6th place finish. Colt Armstrong also earned 1st Team All-Conference honors with a 10th place finish. Jenna Meyer earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors with her 17th place finish. Nate Woolery & Sam Theising earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors with their 15th & 18th place finishes. Way to go PCMS XC!
These students recently participated in the 2015 INPact Indiana's Future Band on August 7-8
. They represented themselves and Pike Central with honor as they performed alongside 368 other middle and junior high school students during the opening of the DCI World Championships Finals events on Saturday, August 8, 2015.
