Attention parents - Tools for Schools Grant:  Please click the following link to vote for Pike Central Middle School.   This is an $1,000 Grant from Old National Bank and the voting runs from September 6th through September 30th.  Plus, there's a bonus!  If Old National Bank hits 15,000 Facebook Likes by September 30th, the school with the most overall votes gets a $5,000 Tools for Schools Grant!
Parents will now be able to check the balances and history of their child's lunch accounts.  Parents will also be able to make payments but there is a fee involved.  The fee cost will be shared later.  Go to www.myschoolbucks.com.  Literature is available in the Cafeteria for PCHS and PCMS students.  It does not cost anything to create an account and check lunch balances.  Parents are more than welcome to go ahead and create an account.

Cross Country, Football , Cheerleader sports pictures will be after school on September 28th.
Middle School SADD meeting will be Thursday, September 29th right after schol in room C-100.  Meeting should be over at 4:00 p.m.

Youth First along with PCMS is providing a free program called Strengthening Families.  It is an awesome program for families with students in the 10-14 age group.  The program is free., dinner is provided each week and transportation can be provided if necessary.  Daycare will be provided for families who have younger children during the program.  It will be a 7 week program beginning on October 4th.  Please click here to read the flyer for more details. 
Picture Retake Day will take place on October 7th.
The PCMS PTO will have a meeting on October 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the WAC.

Reminder all athletes must have a current physical and all paperwork on Family ID on file before participation is allowed.

**Attention Parents:  Gifts & Parties:
Any food items sent to school for classroom celebrations or extended after school functions pertaining to students, must be commercially prepared and packaged with a list of ingredients and nutritional value on the label.  This is for the safety of those with food allergies and for diabetic calculations.

If a student participates in after school programs where snacks may be involved in, it will be the parent's responsibility to notify those in charge of the programs of any student allergies or food limitations.

Healthy, nutritious snacks are encouraged.

No latex balloon deliveries will be accepted.

Parents, you may access your student's grades online using our student information system INOW. Students and parents each have login information available. Parent logins allow parents to see multiple children with one user name. Please contact your child's school for your login information. Access to INOW can be found on the lower left portion of this website.

Athletic Links

The Athletic Department will no longer be doing athletic packets.  Parents will be required to click the link below to register your children.  You will be filling out the code of conduct, medical form and concussion forms.  The physical form is the only paperwork that cannot be done online.  If you have any questions, contact the Athletic Dept. at 812-354-8478 ext. 331 or ext. 317.

Student Spotlight

The following students were selected this past weekend for the All-Region Honor Band.  This is a band composed of students in grades 7-9 from about 15 schools in the southwest region of the state.  They will meet on November 12th and 13th at South Knox High School for the Honor Band.

The Middle School Cross Country team competed recently in the South Knox Invitational.  The girls A team, consisting of Lauren Young, Charlotte Dudenhoffer, Jenna Meyer, Laney Johnson, Quinlan Teague, Morgan Anderson and Morgan Sallee ran hard, bringing home a fourth place trophy, beating out more than fifteen teams.
Lauren Young placed first and Charlotte Dudenhoffer placed fifteenth out of close to 150 runners.

For the boys, Ijaa Chambers placed second out of close to 150 runners, mere seconds behind the first place runner.  Colt Armstrong also placed fifteenth, helping lead the boys to a sixth place finish at the invitational.
Great job PCMS Cross Country runners, Ijaa Chambers for a 4th place finish, Lauren Young  and Colt Armstrong on their 9th place finishes at the Gibson Southern Invite.
Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams on their teams wins at North Knox, as well as Ijaa Chambers and Lauren Young on their individual wins.
July 18-20, 2016 The PCMS 7th-8th grade cheer squad attended a NCA cheer camp.  They learned chants, cheers, and dances.  They worked on stunts and pyramids.  After performing for family, friends, and the NCA staff.  The squad received a superior ribbon on their game day cheer, and an outstanding ribbon for their chant.  Their were some girls that got nominated for All-American Cheer. These girls were Courtney Tepe, Jenni Meyer, Kayla Cannon, Jaize Mills, Emma McKinney, Grace Brandle, and Sdyney Boyd.  Emma McKinney made the All-American cheer team.    Front row Madyson Satterfield, Kayla Cannon, Emma McKinney, Jaize Mills, Shylee Russell.  Back Row; Haven Longest, Courtney Tepe, Jenna Meyer, Maddie Williams, Sdyney Boyd, Grace Brandle, Kendall Radabaugh.  They received awards of technical excellence, national Championship Bid to Dallas, TX, Stunt Safe award, Herkie team award.


Lauren Young broke the 300 m hurdle record on April 19th with a time of 52.91 seconds.  The old record was set by Tenaya Murray in 1990 with a time of 55.06 seconds.
