Early release dates: March 1st, 8th, and 15th.
Feb. 27--ISTEP+ begins today and will go through March 10th.
March 3rd--End of the 3rd grading period.
March 4th--Tri-State Spelling Bee will be held in Evansville at Ivy Tech. Good Luck to our representative, Carter McCain!!
March 6th-10th--Nation School Social Worker's Week. Remember to tell Mrs. McCutchan how much you appreciate her!
March 7th--PTO meeting in the group room.
March 9th--Staff and students wear your "Be" shirts.
March 10th--Report cards will be sent home.
March 12th--Daylight Savings Time Begins. Set your clocks forward 1 hour.
March 13th-17th--IRead 3 testing begins.
March 14th--Mr. Ashworth, the band director at Pike Central will be here at 2:00 to talk to the 5th grade students about band.
March 17th--Mrs. DeCoursey & the 5th grade will experience the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. St. Patrick's Day
March 20th-31st--Spring Break-School will NOT be in session!
April 3rd--First day back to school after spring break.
**Mr. King wants to emphasize the importance of attendance and effort in class all of the second semester. Formative assessments begin January 9th and will continue through May. Summative assessments such as IREAD3 and ISTEP+ begin the end of February and continue through May.
**Spring Music Program for grades K-2 will be April 6th. Spring pictures will be taken April 7th.
**Kingergarten round-up for kids who will be 5 by August 1st, is on April 6th & 7th. We will be having Preschool screenings for kids who will be 4 by August 1st, on April 10th.
**5th grade will be selling candy bars all month to raise money for their Indy trip. $1.00 each. **4th grade science fair is coming in April!
The School Transportation Association of Indiana is holding a poster contest. Any student grades K-8 may submit an entry. The deadline for submission of the poster must be done by April 1st. Please click here for more information in regards to this contest.
The annual "IHSAA Sports Physicals" will be held Wednesday, April 19th at the Pike Central Middle School. any student who will be in grades 6-12 in the fall of 2017 and plans on participating in a SCHOOL sport at any time during the year may take advantage of this opportunity. **Parents will now be able to check the balances and history of their child's lunch accounts. Parents will also be able to make payments but there is a fee involved. The fee cost will be shared later. Go to www.myschoolbucks.com. Literature is being sent home with elementary students. It does not cost anything to create an account and check lunch balances. Parents are more than welcome to go ahead and create an account.
