The students taking construction trades are working on a few projects and plan to finish up a few more. Mr. Elliott was looking for some cases for his kids to display their softball/baseball awards and showed some ideas to the class. They built and stained these for Mr. Elliott. They look very professional. The classes are also working on a large conference table using a slab from a tree and epoxy resin. They are making some progress on this and plan to finish it during the following school year. It will be amazing!

PSA to everyone. There are phishing emails coming from government agencies. Many of these are about unpaid tolls and they warn that failure to pay may result in penalties or licenses suspended. We initially received them from the Indiana Department of Education(or so they say), but I have heard reports of others throughout the State receiving them from other state agencies. The email says it comes from one of the agencies, but the email address is not legit. If you receive any emails that seem suspicious, call the person(or department) directly. DO NOT click on the link or reply to the email. This has nothing to do with Pike County School Corporation, but we just want everyone to be safe. Please share with others so they do not get phished. Below is a screenshot of one of these emails.

We’re proud to announce that Pike Central High School has been named a PLTW 2024-25 Distinguished School for their commitment to increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in their PLTW Biomedical Science, Engineering, and Computer Science programs. This is the 4th year in a row that PCHS has been recognized. #PLTW #STEM #STEMeducation

Big congratulations to the Medical Terminology class. They completed both CPR and BLS(Basic Life Support) training provided by Dawn Lehmkuhler. It was a wonderful day and a great way to help prepare our students for future success in the medical field.

Mr. Kluemper's Landscaping, Horticulture and Principles of Ag students worked on reworking the landscaping in the memorial bed on the backside of PC. The students put in the time to plan, design and spruce up this space in honor of Abby Brock(FFA) and J.R. Grubb and everyone else here and gone from Pike Central.
They did an amazing job making this beautiful again!

Last week, the Spanish Club had activities for the 2nd graders from each elementary to visit PCHS and learn Spanish colors, numbers, greetings, and dances. All of the activities were planned and run by the Spanish Club. This was the 2nd year and the students love it.
One PES teacher said, "This event is an absolute favorite of the 2nd grade teachers and students alike. It is so well organized and the high school students have been fantastic to work with. It is the BEST field trip experience and we are so thankful for all of the hard work that goes into planning it."
Thanks to the Spanish Club for doing such a wonderful job with our youth.

Thank you to ALL of our teachers and staff at PCHS. All of our staff at PCHS are teachers to our students and CARE so much for all of them. We celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week but want to make sure ALL of our staff know they are included. Please make a shout out to our awesome staff!
