Have a great weekend and be safe!
⌚Slow down. Watch for buses and children gathering near bus stops. 🚌 The greatest risk to a child isn’t riding a school bus, but approaching or leaving one. Stay alert. Stay engaged. Keep them safe.
🟡 Yellow lights 🟡 on a school bus indicate the bus is preparing to stop. 🛑 If you’re driving, slow down, stay alert, and watch out for children. 🧒 🧒
🛑 See the school bus stop-arm? Time to STOP. 🛑 Racing past the arm puts young lives in jeopardy.

Did you know students at Pike Central High School can gain hands-on machining experience while they’re still in high school?
Our Machining program prepares juniors and seniors for careers that are in high demand by teaching real-world skills on industry-grade equipment. Students learn to operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, and more while building the knowledge employers are looking for.
Even better, many students continue their education through scholarship opportunities, earning a degree with little to no student loan debt before entering a rewarding career.
Whether your future is in manufacturing, engineering, skilled trades, or advanced technology, this program can help you get there.
🎥 Watch the video to hear directly from our instructor and see the Machining program in action!

A special board meeting, which is open to the public, was posted last week. Over the weekend, requests were received which impact the agenda items for the special meeting. Therefore, the public meeting scheduled for 6:00 pm on April 20, 2026, has been postponed at this time and will not held tonight.

Unlike the unused items being sold, these funds will directly benefit our students. There are a few main reasons that we ended up with these excess items over time — furniture updates over the last 15 to 20 years, the closing of Otwell Elementary, and we made the tough decision to end our Automotive program. After years of searching for a qualified Auto teacher, we had to accept that not many people are willing to leave their high-paying industry job for one in a classroom, and we ultimately decided it made more sense to focus on the programs that are currently strong and growing, such as Welding, Precision Machining, Construction Trades, and more.
This auction helped us make the most of what we have so we can keep investing in great learning opportunities for our students. Thank you for being part of it and for your continued support!
